What is Moringa?
The best known species is Moringa oleifera and its main use is as a dietary supplement, as a dietary protein for athletes. Moringa is the most vitamin-rich plant on earth.

Moringa leaves are very rich in protein, vitamins and minerals, has excellent nutritional value and is considered one of the best perennial vegetables. Moringa leaves have more than 25% protein, which is twice as much as egg or milk, four times more vitamin A than carrots, four times more calcium than milk, seven times more vitamin C than oranges, three times more potassium than bananas, significant amounts of iron, phosphorus and other elements.

Few plants have gained as much popularity in recent years as this highly nutritious tree. Moringa oleifera originally comes from the foot of the Himalayas. In the meantime, Moringa oleifera - the best known Moringa species - is cultivated everywhere in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. And what we can read about Moringa cultivation in Africa mostly refers to this Asian species. The Indian Vedas already mention this tree in praise over 5,000 years ago.

Vital ingredients
The plant is bursting with vital substances. And really just about everything on this tree can be used. Known as a superfood in the USA, moringa has long been considered an excellent dietary supplement there. For healthy people, Moringa is simply an energy booster. Athletes have also discovered Moringa as a performance enhancer. It is the unique composition of nature that makes Moringa such a valuable, powerful food, a cocktail of all important vitamins in sometimes extremely high concentrations. Moringa provides us with an enormous amount of minerals and trace elements and a balanced amino acid spectrum, with many natural unsaturated omega fatty acids, flavonoids, and balancing phytoestrogens. Moringa contains numerous antioxidants. However, one of the most remarkable substances of the moringa tree, perhaps the real miracle, is zeatin. Moringa regulates the function of the thyroid gland, so it can be taken with an underactive or overactive thyroid.

Zeatin
Zeatin is a recently discovered phytohormone that solved the long-coded mystery of why its many valuable constituents are also available to the human body in such high bioavailability. This is how the messenger substance zeatin was discovered, which today is regarded as one of the most important anti-aging substances, because it ensures that many vital substances can only be properly absorbed by the body. No other restorative food leads to an increase in strength and weight in malnourished people as quickly as Moringa. It contains 1000 times more zeatin than other plants.

Meanwhile, zeatin is used in the cosmetic industry as an anti-wrinkle agent because it is a powerful antioxidant. Zeatin improves cell regeneration, nutrient supply and metabolism, a natural cell protection agent. Zeatin prevents oxidative stress, so it counteracts skin aging.

Tasty for cooking
The delicate, filigree leaves taste good and are eaten raw or very briefly boiled or steamed. The Internet is full of recipes for it. The powder can be used as a sauce and soup binder. The name horseradish tree comes from the fact that the roots have the typical horseradish aroma and are also used like horseradish. The leaves taste slightly nutty, a bit like peanut.

Benefits for the locals
Its uses as a beneficial plant are many. In Ayurveda, its effects are highly valued. It has such an extremely positive effect due to the polyphenols it contains. In many countries of the world, where the drinking water is contaminated, one has great success in disinfecting drinking water with ground moringa seeds. Already 200mg of moringa seed powder are enough to make 1 liter of water drinkable again!
