For many generations, matcha tea has been whipped with a bamboo chasen to give it that delicious creamy, frothy texture. The bamboo whisk has been part of the matcha tea ceremony since ancient times. The chasen is handmade, cut from ONE piece of bamboo. Then the bristle tips are rounded over hot steam, all by hand, according to knowledge passed down from generation to generation. A machine can not do such a thing.
Matching to the bamboo whisk is also included the dosing spoon Chashaku, so that you can properly dose our high quality certified organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha tea.
The Chashaku is also hand carved from bamboo and likewise bent over hot steam.
The chashaku should not get wet, just wipe it with dry cloth and keep it dry.
