Kamala (Kamela) fruit hair powder

from Mallotus philippinensis, Euphorbiaceae, Pacific Islands, north and east Australia

Names: Mallótus philippinénsis Mull.—Aarg. (= Rottlera tinctoria Roxb., = Croton philippinensis Lam.)
The name comes from "woolly" because the small flowers and fruits are hairy and have red glands. Our powder is obtained from the glands and hairs of the fruit.

It has been used to dye silk for centuries.
It has been used as a wormer, especially in Arabia, for many hundreds of years.
In the 19th century it was also used in Germany against worms and herpes and as a liniment against mites and skin psoriasis and in larger quantities (more than 10 g daily) as a Laxative.

And it was also reported that there were no side effects other than stimulating the gut.

Many prefer to use Kamala for their animals than chemical products for deworming, e.g. for a cat (or for small dogs) you only need a pinch, for larger dogs, ponies and horses (up to 1 teaspoon) accordingly more.
Do not use permanently, and not at all for animal babies, only 3 days, then a week break.

As with all natural herbs, always ask a doctor you trust who is familiar with natural remedies before treating yourself or your animals with Kamala.
