Flor de Jamaica, whole flowers, Hibiscus sabdariffa, from Mexico

In South and Central America, the cold or hot infusion is used to maintain good health, as appetite stimulation and for cooling.
Flor de Jamaica loves it warm and is originally from Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, hibiscus grows throughout the tropical and subtropical area. "La Jamaica" is the name given to this magnificent plant in Mexico, popular and famous for its enchanting beauty, intense colors and sweet, fruity fragrance. The anthocyanins contained, e.g. Dolphindin and cyanidin make the infusion wonderfully dark red. Citric acid, malic acid, tartaric acid and hibiscus acid (allohydoxy citric acid lacton) give a delicious, slightly sour taste.
In China, hibiscus stands for fame, splendor and wealth, and sexual attraction. It is a national flower in Malaysia and Korea and embodies determination and perseverance as the "flower of immortality". The fragrant dried hibiscus blossoms are the basis for the Caribbean popular soft drink "Agua de Jamaica" and are extremely healthy: rich in vitamin C, minerals and antioxidants they have a positive effect on your body.

Therefore, they have an anti-aging effect.

Is this the secret why people in these countries look so timelessly beautiful?

Dosage

Pour 1 teaspoon with a cup (200 ml) of cold water and let it soak overnight or pour boiling water over it and leave it covered for five to ten minutes. Then pour through a tea strainer.
The infusion can be stored in the refrigerator for several days, preferably in a bottle. Do not cook or store in aluminum pots or tin pots. Refine with Erythritol sweetener or even better with probiotic Yacon syrup.
